Look at these people… they really are my favorite! The Lord has blessed our family immensely over the years in so many ways, but we are primarily grateful for the work He has done, and continues to do, in each one of us.

L-R: Austin, Landry, Ty, Eva, Zane, Chris, Sophie, Bryce, Peyton

Chris and I have been married almost 27 years! We met in Florida when teaching at a Christian school. Chris was the science dept head (and taught all the boring classes), and I was the speech/drama/choir teacher, cheer coach, and play director. Match made in Heaven. Chris has been in pastoral ministry for 23 years, lead pastor for the past 11+ years. I have served in worship, teaching, children, and speaking ministries over those years. I've also continued coaching speech teams for the local public school.

Meet the Fab 5: Landry (Austin), Bryce (Sophie), Peyton, Ty, and Zane...and China, the best dog that has ever existed.  Our family has always been, let's say, entertaining. Never a dull moment when you have 4 kids in 5 years! Then we adopted 2 toddlers from China with significant medical needs. (Our sweet Zoe passed away when she was 3 yrs, and we miss her every day.) It’s often been said that we could have a reality show of our chaotic lives. The original Carr Ride blog name was the result of a brainstorming session of our fictitious reality show!

TheCarrRide blog began in 2012 during the adoption process, although I have enjoyed writing my entire life. My adoption book for children, When Love Brought You Home, was written to remind everyone (including myself) about the excitement and joy of adoption. The 10 Confessions book is a glimpse into the mind of a grieving Christian, in the hopes that we will learn how to honor God in our grieving and help others do the same.
